Don't Mention Muslim Follies?

Recently, The Australian newspaper reprinted in full a speech by Australia's Islamic leader that blamed Western women for getting raped. Various Leftists have however argued that the newspaper should not have done that:

"Self-appointed keepers of the national conscience such as Peter Botsman, Mike Carlton and Malcolm Fraser have missed the point when it comes to the outrageous statements of Sheik Taj Din al-Hilali and this newspaper's coverage of the same. Although he may be the worst offender, Mr Botsman is hardly alone in claiming The Australian committed a "media lynching" of the Muslim cleric. In a 25,000-word paper posted on his website, Botsman, chief editor of the online journal Australian Prospect, argues that no matter how reprehensible the mufti's remarks, publishing them was wrong because it reinforced the world's current anxieties and fears.
