You cannot be too careful in talking about blacks

We read:
"An Australian political adviser to London Lord Mayor Boris Johnson has been forced to resign over a racism scandal.

James McGrath was accused of suggesting black people should ``go home'' if they did not like the new Mayor.

Responding to claims Caribbean immigrants could leave the UK if Mr Johnson was elected, Mr McGrath said: ``Let them go if they don't like it here.''

If he had been talking about Americans instead of blacks he would have been applauded.

Hell, I say that about Nicole Kidman here in the US. She bad mouths the country publicly and then makes her movies here, get her money from US viewers and even buys a house in Nashville. The Dixie chicks bad mouth the Prez and get ostracized by the music industry, this is not in their defense, but Kidman talks about the him and the country and still makes millions on her movies. Kick her the hell out. Does this make me a racist?

I personally don't watch Nicole Kidman movies. I think she's WAY over-rated as an actress - and I don't like her shooting her mouth off about the country that made her a star. And that goes for Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon and a host of others.

but they are Hollyword stars - we must listen & learn from them!

Ok - not strictly about the article but I seem to recall several 'celebs' saying that if George W got re-elected (last time around obviously) then they were leaving...
I'm still waiting for them to go.
Now - on the actual article I didn't see him saying anything racist - nor anything that hasn't been said a million times before or anything that anyone would find offensive - unless of course they were looking for offense.
If people do not like it where they are they are free to leave. Surely that is true of any free country??? Race doesn't enter into it.

The problem isn't that these "stars" have opinions, the problem is that their opinions are being blown across the news as if their opinions mattered more than the opinion of anyone else.

They are stars because of their acting ability, not because of their political savvy and only the foolish fail to understand that.

Remember something about these so-called celebs who tout themselves as being all-knowing. Before getting a lucky break, these are the people who were serving you your breakfast at some diner, or trying to sell you insurance! They're not any smarter now, they're just richer!

And very often these celebs that want you to think they are smarter then you have not even graduated from high school (Tom Cruise). For some reason they get this idea that because we like their movies that we must agree with their opinions and if we don't agree we must be stupid republicans that hate everyone and just want to extort money from the poor. I find it funny when these idiots get on TV for some cause and whine about how we should give our money until it hurts for their cause but yet they don't even come close to giving their money until it hurts.
