Cincinnati Radio host attacked by Leftist group

He tells the truth about the poor! Unforgiveable
"He is well known, outspoken and often the target of criticism, but now 700 WLW's Bill Cunningham is being called out by a Washington, D.C.-based media watchdog group. "What we're trying to call attention to is the real extremist rhetoric that really feeds on hate and poisons our democratic discourse," Media Matters representative Paul Waldman said.

The group said that they've zeroed in on Cunningham for comments such as, "people are poor because they don't work," and, "America is the only country in the world with poor fat people."

Cunningham, for his part, remains unconvinced. "I don't smear anybody. I speak the truth," Cunningham said. He's been named as one of the most influential people in the local media in the past.

Media Matters monitors conservative media and said that Cunningham is one of the most prolific purveyors of hate speech. "Is it a joke to compare Barack Obama to Hitler? To say he's going to gas the Jews? Is it a joke to say that Obama's father left him when he was two because that's what typical black fathers do," Waldman said.

Cunningham doesn't deny the things he says stir up strong emotions. But he said his listeners know where he's coming from. "I said that Barack Obama's father acted the way a black father normally acts, which is quickly have a baby and leave. Which is factually accurate, and it's rather sad," Cunningham said.

Once again we see that it is unforgiveable to compare Obama to Hitler. Very strange after the million times Leftists have compared GWB to Hitler! Did Media Matters attack the Leftist accusations about GWB? We don't need to guess the answer.

When one honestly investigates, one finds numerous similarities.

1. Both share the same anti-individualist ideology, and the same lack of respect for the individual.
2. They share the same anti-capitalist attitudes and the same lack of respect for private property.
3. They both shared a talent for arousing passion in audiences while at the same time avoided saying much of substance.
4. They both share a contempt for private ownership of guns.
5. They both ran on promises of providing the population largess from the public treasury - e.g., social security, unemployment insurance, government-paid medical care.
6. They both share a highly gay-favorable/anti-normalcy agenda.
7. Their followers are highly punitive toward anyone exhibiting the slightest hint of dissent - the signature of fascism.
8. Both rose to power as a result of bad economic times.
9. Obama chose the site of the Victory Column for his speech to the Germans on his summer European tour, the very site Hitler used for gathering public support for his predatory wars against Germany's neighbors. As another site said of that, "The location is the message."
10. Hitler had his private armies to enforce his personal will on the whole country. Obama called for a special civilian corps at least as powerful and well funded as the military, sounding suspiciously like a call to form his own private army.
11. Both believe that children belong to the state, and that the state should control all education that people get.
12. Hitler found that Germany's economy under National Socialism could not come close to paying for all the promises made to the Germans, and Germany under Hitler was only able to make good on its promises to its people by invading neighboring countries, looting them, and using the looted wealth to pay the people what it promised. Obama will find that the economy cannot support everything he has promised his supporters. Democrats held hearings in October on how the government could get its hands on the retirement savings of American workers to make good on its promised largess.

I'm sure with more time we can come up with even more valid comparisons between Obama and Hitler.

Robert,

Your insights are well taken, but regardless of whether Obama can be compared to Hitler accurately or not, the real issue is that the First Amendment guarantees a person the right to make such a comparison.

Huh??? Calling anyone or thing 'Hitler' is just a cheap shot and effectively meaningless. Worse it tends to immunise the notion of one of a monstrous historical figure. Even saying there are similarities is unhelpful and has the effect over time of sanitising the horror.
However, if this shock jock wants to shake things up and encourage impassioned responses, well, his listeners must expect this and take a robust approach.
However, America is far from the only country with fat poor people - try Australia some time. I'd bet the UK was the same.
But what most 'poisons democratic discourse' is trying to stifle it.
