Louisiana cops detain man for half an hour because he displayed “Don’t Tread on Me” Bumper Sticker

Conservative bumper sticker "subversive" and "extremist", apparently:
"A Louisiana driver was stopped and detained for having a "Don't Tread on Me" bumper sticker on his vehicle and warned by a police officer about the "subversive" message it sent, according to the driver's relative.

The situation developed in the small town of Ball, La., where a receptionist at the police department told WND she knew nothing about the traffic stop, during which the "suspect" was investigated for "extremist" activities, the relative said. A man identifying himself as a police officer from Ball called WND later to report that the town's records of traffic stops did not include this situation. He suggested it might have involved one of several other agencies that work in the area.

It followed by only a few weeks the release of a Department of Homeland Security report, "Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment", which prompted outrage from legislators and a campaign calling for the resignation of DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano.

The report, which cites individuals who sport certain bumper stickers on their vehicles as suspect, was delivered to tens of thousands of local law enforcement officers across the nation.

Did any freedom-loving American expect anything different from Dept. of Homeland Stupidity boss Butch Napolitano? She's (?) an extreme leftist, working for a Marxist. Obviously, her job is to "control" anyone who disagrees with Yobama's plan to turn the US into the new Soviet Union.

First us Veterans and now people with bumper stickers. Because of similar actions by their government, I had relatives that left Germany in the late 1930's because when expressed disagreement. I guess the collectivists (trait of both the right and left) are in control.

Has anyone noticed the end of democracy? No, i didn't think so. Maybe when it's made into a TV show, the American people will take notice.

"The Nazis in the 1930s were not right wing, they were the National SOCIALIST Party."

Actually they were NATIONAL socialist party. Emphasis corrected. Right wing. But hey, why let the truth stop you eh?

You see. At that time, Germany was incredibly fragmented politically. They had like 30 political parties, obviously, that makes it hard to get a majority of the seats. So the parties that appealed to the most voters got more seats. So the national socialist party would get more than just the nationalist or socialist parties. As well as pretending to be both socialist (left wing), he also trumped his catholic upbringing to bring those voters in too.

Obviously, once he was in power and took both positions of control, he quickly moved to eradicate the left wing component of his party, which would be an obvious threat to his power. Those concentration camps were filled with communists and socialists too.

Odd that he'd do that, and leave the right wing elements in positions of authority, if he was a socialist. Makes no sense to completely leave the people who don't think like you do, wouldn't you say?

Unless you're suggesting that the conservatives in Germany were so weak minded that they didn't realize they were working for a lefty.

The presence of "National" in the party name hardly makes them rightist. The attitudes expressed and held by the Nazis make it clear they were very far leftist, and "Socialist" is the key word in the name of the party. And I have never known any right-wing (respecting individual liberty and strongly opposed to big, powerful government) political party anywhere, at any time, that would have been caught dead with the word "Socialist", or "Labor", or "Workers" in its party name, let alone more than one. If there is anything to be made of the "National" part of the name, they did want Germany to dominate, including dominating other countries, and they sure demonstrated that. But that, too, is completely opposite rightist attitudes, which are well expressed by "Don't Tread on Me", or "Live and Let Live".
