Polar bear expert censored by Warmists

No dissent from the Warmist Gospel allowed: Mitchell Taylor, who has studied the bears for 30 years, was barred from a U.N. conference about them
"Over the coming days a curiously revealing event will be taking place in Copenhagen. Top of the agenda at a meeting of the Polar Bear Specialist Group (set up under the International Union for the Conservation of Nature/Species Survival Commission) will be the need to produce a suitably scary report on how polar bears are being threatened with extinction by man-made global warming.

Dr Mitchell Taylor has been researching the status and management of polar bears in Canada and around the Arctic Circle for 30 years, as both an academic and a government employee. More than once since 2006 he has made headlines by insisting that polar bear numbers, far from decreasing, are much higher than they were 30 years ago. Of the 19 different bear populations, almost all are increasing or at optimum levels, only two have for local reasons modestly declined.

Dr Taylor had obtained funding to attend this week's meeting of the PBSG, but this was voted down by its members because of his views on global warming. The chairman, Dr Andy Derocher, a former university pupil of Dr Taylor's, frankly explained in an email (which I was not sent by Dr Taylor) that his rejection had nothing to do with his undoubted expertise on polar bears: "it was the position you've taken on global warming that brought opposition".

So, as the great Copenhagen bandwagon rolls on, stand by this week for reports along the lines of "scientists say polar bears are threatened with extinction by vanishing Arctic ice". But also check out Anthony Watt's Watts Up With That website for the latest news of what is actually happening in the Arctic. The average temperature at midsummer is still below zero, the latest date that this has happened in 50 years of record-keeping. After last year's recovery from its September 2007 low, this year's ice melt is likely to be substantially less than for some time. The bears are doing fine.

To the Green/Left, truth is irrelevant. Destruction is all.

It has never been about the polar bears, it has always been about their pocketbooks. They have invested money in inefficient "green" companies, and need to make them into monopolies to get a return.

Bullseye Anon 1.
Fat Algore and his friends are making mountains of money from his global warming and carbon scams. Those on the Left know that in order to get rich from a lie, or have unpopular and oppressive laws and regulations forced-fed to the majority of people, they must first create fear and hysteria. And they've done just that.

But where are the people? Why have the people stood by while hundreds of highly qualified scientists have been silenced simply because they either disagree with Gore, or can actually prove he's running a massive, culture-changing scam that will turn the American people into EnviroPrisoners?

It goes deeper than the polar bear expert.

There is a "developing" story of an internal EPA report that flatly contradicts the EPA's stance on AGW. The report was censored and buried by the EPA.

The story can be found here:

The report itself here (4 megs, pdf):

The essential gist of the report is that the science doesn't match the claims of the AGW crowd. The author calls for a more measured, reasoned and scientific study of AGW.

Of course, the report was censored by the EPA.

Can't have anyone (even a reknown scientist) go against the obvious expertise of people such as Al Gore, can you?

Scientific evidence contradicting the bizarre claims made by the EnviroNazi's has been around for some time. But thanks to the Left and the MSM, it has been kept from reaching the public, which proves this whole subject has nothing to do with the environment, and everything to do with political control of the masses.

There, fixed it for ya.

Take your pick. Whether it's the health "crisis", or the economic "crisis", or the Wall Street "crisis", what it's really about is one party wanting all the power to inflict their views and politically-motivated whims on all of us. The Republican party no longer has any roll or voice in what's going on, so this entire mess with be charged to the Demoncrats. If the American people allow this to continue, it proves they deserve nothing better.

Who's fault is that?

Uncle Weatherby said...

The fault is the Republicans. They have become the party of weakness, as was proved by John McLoser's pathetic bid for the WH. Remember, when you fight the Democrats, you're fighting the entire Left (and) the media, and you have no chance of winning if you insist on "playing by the rules" as McLoser did. If you're not willing to take the gloves off as the Left does, don't even bother getting into the ring!

By Neal Boortz;

How would America's biggest oil companies react to this cap-and-trade legislation? Most people would say "who cares?" because they are big, bad, evil corporations. But you should care, because those big, bad, evil corporations also provide Americans with jobs and energy.

So how will these companies react? According to Bloomberg News, they will be closing plants, cutting capital spending and increasing imports. You see, fuel importers will only need to purchase permits for the fuel that is to be burned by cars, trucks, etc. Domestic oil companies, on the other hand, would also have to buy allowances for any CO2 produced by their plants. Clearly that would make domestic companies less competitive and create an imbalance in the market. Yeah .. .haven't thought of that one, have you?

The CEO of ConocoPhillips, Jim Mulva, says, "It will lead to the opportunity for foreign sources to bring in transportation fuels at a lower cost, which will have an adverse impact to our industry, potential shutdown of refineries and investment and, ultimately, employment."

It is estimated that one out of every six US refineries would close by 2020 because the cost of carbon allowances would simply erase profits, according to the American Petroleum Institute. For the consumer, carbon permits would add 77 cents to the price of a gallon of gasoline. Slowly, people have started to realize that Obama has mastered the art of increasing taxes on businesses, which ultimately pass on those increases in the form of price hikes for consumers.

Greens like algore are really watermelons.

They look all green on the outside, but on the inside they are just plain Red. They want to control us in all aspects of our life’s.

So they demand “green spaces” around our houses, limiting construction, and then complain that there aren’t enough houses.

As for the taxes, the price of gasoline will just jump up one day. Maybe they will shut them down and maybe not. It might be cheaper for the consumer for the oil company to pump the Oil here, ship it somewhere else to refine it and then ship it back here. That would be a Great Commercial, a Oil Company executive, saying that they are shipping the oil overseas to refine it to save Americans money!
