Must not defend homosexuals in the Middle East

Homosexuals are only oppressed in the Wicked West, apparently
"A pro-Israel group was booted from the U.S. Social Forum in Detroit after it had scheduled a workshop for today on gay rights in the Middle East.

Stand With Us, which has a chapter in Detroit, had registered to run a workshop set for this afternoon that was part of a forum attracting activists to Detroit from across North America. Their workshop was called “LGBTQI Liberation in the Middle East.” It planned to look at how gays and lesbians are oppressed in the Arab world, say organizers, while Israel in contrast gives them freedom.

The workshop was initially approved and was on the program. But on Wednesday, the group was kicked out of the forum and not allowed to do the workshop. Supporters of the group said the decision is related to the fact they are pro-Israel at a conference that has a number of workshops critical of Israel and Zionism.

Stand With Us members criticized the U.S. Social Forum for their decision. “I’m pretty disgusted because it seems like free speech at the forum doesn’t exist for voices that may have something good to say about Israel,” said Brett Cohen, director of the Midwest region of Stand With Us.

We all know how sacred homosexuals are but Arabs are apparently more sacred

What they don't want to hear: "Let us remind the executive as to where gays in the Middle East are tortured and murdered for daring to express their sexual preference. The reality is that in the Middle East, Israel is to be admired for its gay rights and equality, amidst being surrounded by countries which condone violent and murderous homophobia"

Being bigoted yourself is an odd way to oppose bigotry

You're wrong, anonymous, homosexuality and same-sex pedophilia and normal same-sex relationships between adults are punished severely in the arab world. As for heterosexual pedophilia, it's true that in Saudi Arabia you can marry girls as young as 8. In the rest of the arab world that's not the case.

Pashtun men commonly have sex with other men, admire other men physically, have sexual relationships with boys and shun women both socially and sexually, yet completely reject the label of "homosexual." The research was conducted as part of a longstanding effort to better understand Afghan culture and improve Western interaction with the local people.

But the research unit, which was attached to a Marine battalion in southern Afghanistan, acknowledged that the behavior of some Afghan men has left Western forces "frequently confused."

Case in point, the report details the bizarre interactions a U.S. Army medic and her colleagues had with Afghan men in the southern province of Kandahar.

In one instance, a group of local male interpreters had contracted gonorrhea anally but refused to believe they could have contracted it sexually -- "because they were not homosexuals."

Apparently, Pashtun men interpret the Islamic prohibition on homosexuality to mean they cannot "love" another man, according to the report. But that doesn't mean they can't use men for "sexual gratification."

It isn't. Bigots are extremely shortsighted and narrowminded people, and will therefore violently oppose any bigotry that doesn't exactly match their own.

"it's true that in Saudi Arabia you can marry girls as young as 8. In the rest of the arab world that's not the case."

Semantics. It may not be codified in law, but it still happens.
The child is given to the man in trust (say officially he's now her uncle and she goes to live with him, in fact he often will indeed be her uncle or grandfather), the official (for the government rather than the mosque) ceremony postponed until it is legal.
And legal usually means maybe 12 rather than 8.

bigot

a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudice

this easily would basically apply to a majority of people. embrace them lol

"LGBTQI"? It seems their ranks are growing daily, or is it just their title?

Actually, homosexuality is quite rampant in many Muslim countries, such as Turkey, but they don't view it (or describe it) as being homosexual. In that way they can indulge without violating the koran.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does "LGBTQI" actually stand for? Or, is it simply a way for activist gays to make their numbers look greater than they are?

I am so sick of hearing that "homosexuality is rampant in (fill in the blank)". It's not. Homos just want us to believe that there's alot of them so they can push their agenda to get it accepted in society. It's nothing more than an evolutionary dead end. Its nature way of saying, "Thanks, but no thanks, I don't want your genes in the pool any more."

Human evolution is not only biological but cultural (in its widest sense), so sterile or non-breeding people can contribute enormously to the success of the human race.

"I believe Queer is a catch-all term for anyone who doesn't subscribe to the any of the above labels, like men who have sex with women, not because they're straight, but because they think of themselves as lesbians. Wrap your head around that."

---I got another one: "Barsexual," straight women who french kiss other straight women to get men to buy them drinks.

That's the point - children and animals aren't adult humans, so they cannot give consent on an equal basis if at all, and therefore not the same as two adult persons of the same gender giving mutual consent to sexual activity between them, which is their right, just as it is for adults of opposite genders.

Hmmm,

Yeah that's why the legal age for consent varies state by state and country by country, because clearly we know exactly when someone is capable of consenting.

Or maybe, it's just an arbitrary changeable law that is based on what society considers appropriate at the time of its passing. You know, like how it used to be against the law to marry outside your race, then that was changed, then it used to be illegal to perform homo acts, now that's changing. Next stop, pedophile village!!

It's not the next stop. You are guilty of the "slippery slope" logical fallacy. There would have to be a big social campaign to reduce the age of consent below the average age of puberty and/or allow sex between people of any age, but there is no such widespread move in that direction, nor for sexual congress with non-humans.

I don't know any homosexuals that want to have sex with kids, and working in advertising, I have met lots of homosexuals.

However, I have seen music videos on MTV where 18 year old girls dress like 15 year old catholic school girls. I have also seen heterosexual comedians like John Stewart, David Letterman and Jay Leno make jokes about 15 year old boys having sex with their female teachers.

I also don't buy into "slippery slope" arguments, Florida allows me to buy a gun, that doesn't mean I get to buy a bazooka or a tank.

California allows medical marijuana, that doesn't mean possession of crack or heroin is going to become legal.

Each state is free to set the age of consent they want, for most of them is between 15 to 18, not to mention a few Romeo and Juliet laws to avoid prosecuting as a sex offender an 18 year old who sleeps with a 17 year old.

Treating grown adults as criminals for the way they have sex with other grown adults is idiotic.

If I want to screw my girlfriend in the ass that is my business, and I don't want the federal or state government telling me what sexual activities we are allowed to enjoy. Besides, what if I want to sleep with two women? Wouldn't that violate the sodomy laws since those two women might kiss or touch each other?

Sacrificing freedom for the sake of morality helps neither morality nor freedom. If you don't believe me, visit Iran.

Hmmm. Interesting.
