Conservatives must not be allowed to exaggerate

"Bush=Hitler" is just fine but some rather milder exaggerations by a conservative radio host are headlined as "hate speech" by the Leftist "Media Matters". Some of them are not even exaggerations, though they are all rather colorful and all are legitimate expressions of opinion. See below.
"Right-wing radio host Bill Cunningham is getting a nationally syndicated television show, the Chicago Tribune reported today. One is left to wonder how the Tribune Co., which will syndicate the show, thought it would be a good idea to broadcast Cunningham's caustic commentary on TV.

Cunningham is no radio powerhouse in the mold of Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck, but what he lacks in audience size, he makes up for in sheer vitriol.

Vituperative remarks about President Obama are a staple of Cunningham's radio show. He has attacked Obama as a racist, alleged that the president wants to "gas the Jews," and invoked "six-six-six" and "the beast" in discussing "Barack Hussein Obama." He's adopted the rhetoric of birthers and even made racially charged remarks about Obama's father, stating, "That's what black fathers do. They simply leave."

The poor are also among Cunningham's favorite targets for attack: He has stated that they are impoverished "because they lack values, ethics, and morals," and advocated "beat[ing] the hell outta" homeless people with "a big old cane, Singapore-style."

There are plenty of extreme Leftists parading opinions on mainstream TV so why should an extreme conservative not parade his opinions on radio?

Media Matters should be happy that there are outlets where frustration against Obama can be expressed.

How is it that we always hear about "Right-wing commentators and talk show host" but no mention of "Left-wing commentators and talk show hosts", even though they are far more in number. They're usually described only as "journalists", even though that title doesn't legitimately apply to the overwhelming majority of them How is it that only those on the Right are capable of so-called "hate speech", but not those on the Left, when in fact, it's one of the Lefts most basic tools?

The trouble with most Conservatives is that they are, well, too conservative. The only way to defeat the Left is by using their tactics and playing by their rules, which is to say, no rules.

Whether most Americans realize it or not, (and most don't) we're involved in a culture war with the Left. And make no mistake, it's a VERY real war, one that already has many, many causalities! What's at stake in this war?

Our Constitution.
Our government.
Our country's future.
Our childrens future.
Our liberty and freedoms.
Our history.
Our traditions.
Our religions.
Our very way of life.

Do any of those things sound like they're worth fighting for? If not, buy yourself a coffin because you're already dead, most likely from the shoulders up.

---I don't mind employing some of their tactics, in fact, we already have conservative versions of Media matters and moveon. However, I think we should always tell the truth no matter who it is. The liberal media is willing to lie about people they hate, we don't need to do the same, in fact, the truth about about people like Michael Moore, George Soros, Obama and plenty of others is much worse than anything we could invent about them.

QUOTABLE QUOTES

"Arizona is where the old republic will stand or fall. It is showdown at high noon. Either America returns to its constitutional system based on real federalism, states' rights, individual liberty and decentralized power, or it continues to slide toward the darkness of a socialist superstate. Washington - with its swollen bureaucracy, imperial arrogance, rampant corruption and dangerous detachment from ordinary citizens - is despised and distrusted by many Americans. A secession of the heart is taking place - a profound alienation from the liberal ruling class. In the future, many states - including Arizona - may decide they have no other option but to break away from the union. The choice is becoming starkly apparent: devolution or dissolution."

The problem with the Left today is that they fail to understand that Constitutional "Freedom of Speech" includes speech from those with whom they do not agree.

I may not agree with everything he says but I do think Rand Paul was right when he said that the constitutional protection of free speech protects the right to be a sticking disgusting racists if one chooses to be.

The civil rights laws are to protect people from being discriminated against when seeking employment, buying a house, car or whatever.

BUT...

If I want to say disgusting things about women, blacks, Asians or whoever i have the right to do so.

BUT...

YOU also have the same free speech rights to call me a racist pig or anything else you want.

This does not give you the right to call for me to be killed (or white cracker babies for that matter).

I would like to see a time when we can move on past all this garbage, but until we grow the hell up and stop thinking of ourselves as a (victim) group and start thinking of ourselves as Americans things will never change.

But until then…Free speech for all or none for all.

You CAN NOT have it both ways!

Well said Nutcase, but i think you're asking for way too much. Discriminating (and doesn't always mean racially) against one group or another, for one reason or another, is simply human nature, and you can't change that. There will always be hate as there will always be love. They are simply human emotions, that is, until politics get involved.

But there is one way you can reduce the amount of hate we see, and that is by taking the profit out of it. Inciting others to hate, and creating whole classes of "victims" has become a major industry for some, such as radical leftists, and "race pimps", like Je$$ie Jackass, Al $harptongue, etc. People like that have become quite rich just by spreading hatred. Think you can change that? Lots-a-luck!
