Australian Catholic school bans gay 'cure' seminar

Some ideas may not be expressed -- even ones that the Holy Father would endorse!
"A Catholic school has kiboshed a "curing homosexuality seminar" set to be held at their Caboolture college.

The meeting sparked outrage on Facebook, with a protest page set up against it. But the group holding the meeting has accused Catholic Education of discrimination over the decision.

Miracle Christian Center president Dorian Ballard denied the group was homophobic. He said they had been discriminated against and the case was now with their lawyers. "We are not homophobic, many of us have come out of the homosexual lifestyle," he said. "We are not afraid of homosexuals; we love them, we've ministered to them for years.

"This topic is always up for debate. It's great to hear a lot of different views in the broad spectrum and we have been silenced, we have been discriminated against."

They may not be afraid or fear homosexuals but they sure fear homosexuality itself, coz their dumb religion says they might go to Hell. Although the RC Church is always changing its mind about the afterlife. Now aparently after all these centuries Pergurtory officially doesn't exist. Maybe the RC Church shouldn't exist any more either. At least one RC school seems to be in doubt about the traditional attitude to sexuality.

Why is it that someone who disagrees with homosexuality is a homophobic? Apparently, gay activists and gay atheists, like the one above, are so afraid of differing opinions that they have to demonize anyone who disagrees with them, (a clear sign of weakness) except of course, blacks. You never hear gays demonizing blacks, the overwhelming majority of whom are rabidly anti-gay.

It would be interesting to hear what the church hierarchy thinks about this. Were they even consulted? The church does have an organisation called Courage, to help homosexuals overcome temptation, and I would have thought they would welcome any possibility of curing it.

Why do many Homosexuals flaunt their particular style of sex?

Why not just travel down the Hersey Highway humming a tune and leave the rest of the world alone.

Cause, "in-your-face, Hethro-slapping" raunch is a homosexual lifestyle!

I guess heterosexuals never flaunt their sexuality!
"Curing" homosexuality is a joke. It can only be suppressed, unless the person is bisexual and can focus on one aspect of their sexuality.

sounds like 2:16 has a huge phobia of religion and morality

it is a perversion as is pedophilia and in many times quite associated with each other - see nambla. They can be cured but only by their own choosing, it cannot be forced.

10:32 PM Is it moral to single me out and suggest that I am not moral? Is morality only how you define it, or only when it conforms to the doctrines and dogmas of one religion or denomination?

I don't think the Catholic Church believes in "curing" homosexuality, their advice is more along the lines of "never have sex again."

But curing it? That would be like giving me a pill to make me find fat women attractive. Sorry, it ain't happening, I like my girls skinny and hungry. :)

"Never have sex again" is what RC priests promise in their vows of celebacy, but even such solemn christian vows don't prevent a shocking number of these priests to relieve their sexual frustrations abusing vulnerable young people in their care. And they say you need religion for morality!!

The RC prohibition against marriage is contrary to the Bible's teachings.

To the unmarried and widows I say that it is best for them to remain as I am. But if they do not have self-control, let them get married. For it is better to marry than to burn with sexual desire.
— 1 Corinthians 7:8–9

Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the later times some will desert the faith and occupy themselves with deceiving spirits and demonic teachings, influenced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared. They will prohibit marriage…
— 1 Timothy 4:1–3a

That's kinda ironic when many "Christians" want to prohibit marriage between adults of the same gender, and earlier between adults of different races, or even of different denominations of "Christianity". Religion is just screwy!
