Antisemitism

Since I stopped moderating comments, I have made a point of reading them all instead. And I have no objections to comments by Leftists, as long as they are civil and not mere abuse. Mere abuse I will mostly delete.

I do draw the line at antisemitic comments however. A reasoned discussion of Jewry founded in facts is fine but a regurgitation of old and cruel myths will be deleted every time.

I usually read the comments only once a day however so some idiocies may remain up until then.

So much for freedom of speech.

So much for freedom of speech.

JJR is no more obligated to publish your comments on the web than is Random House obligated to publish them in a book. You have the freedom of speech to publish them on your own blog.

In the meantime, you would be well advised to look up the difference between a "right" and an "entitlement."

(and if, after that, you still can't see a diff between them, well, hello there Mr. President!)

What about a discussion of the myths? Maybe he needs a comment blog about jewish concerns?

While as an Orthodox Jew I appreciate the act of deleting those comments, at the same time, seeing such thing amuses me. When people type or say those things, I know who my enemies are, plus, comments like that are always so illogical and irrational, and thus funny.

Judaism contains within its text a legal construct by the name of Noachide Law... This is proven fact that the Orthodox will kindly verify. So Judaism is a religion for the "Gentiles" as well. The issue that many have with this Noachide law thing is that the penalty for not desiring to participate in it as a Judaism lite for gentiles and thereby refusing Rabbinical authority in administering the affairs of the "Gentiles", is the death penalty.

These are not tired old sterotypes JR. They are religious imperatives of the Rabbinate and the Sannhedrin. However, for stating such facts we are immediately smeared as "Anti-semites".... Never have I threatened Jews or their families with physical or harm of any other sort as the Jews have mine by their physical presence at my home and via their religious texts.

There is no place for the gentile in the judaised world except as a kneeling Noachide. That is the fact of the matter as written.

Your blog is lightweight in that it does not tackle all issues of significant import, only those that will not bring you personally any grief.

Stinky,

You've correctly hit the nail squarely on the head.

It's like me inviting some people to my house and one or two start spouting obscenities at other guests just for the sake of stroking their own egos.

Adios,

Don't let the door hit you in the arse you vile biggots!

Mr Noachide:

Judaism is as diverse as Christianity and I expect you can find some rabbinical equivalent of Fred Phelps who says the sort of thing that concerns you but he is no more representative of Jews than Fred Phelps is representative of Christians. Most Jews in fact are not religious at all.

@anonymous 7:00PM,
Do you go around inviting Jewish people into your house so that you can feel threatened by their very presence? I suspect most Jewish people would feel pretty threatened by your passive/aggressive invitation. I'm not Jewish, but if I were to visit Israel, I would feel more threatened by the possibility of an Islamist jihadi attack than being subjected to the death penalty for breaking the Noachide Law.

The death penalty business of not a cause for concern...really. It only highlights the poverty of jewish "truths", and is an admission of abject failure in its acclaimed role as " a light unto the nations".
The more I study judaism the farther away from it I want to be, yet they seek to drag us closer.

Anon 9:10, as a Jew, I am glad someone like you is trying to get away. You have absolutely no right to pass judgement onto my people, quite frankly, I doubt you are a model example on how to be a "Light to the nations". And Mr. Noachide, as an Orthodox Jew, I have never had a rabbi say much of what you have typed and the blog author is right in his excellently put point.

Like some regulars on this site (and JJR in particular) i am a supporter of Israel and am a non-jewish friend of Judaism.
That said, I do think it a little odd that this site in particular should be so supportive Israel when that country has no enshrined rights equivalent to the First Amendment - the very foundation of this site. For example, although there is general recognition of the right to religious freedom it is patchy at best in practice.

The state of Israel wouldn't exist without huge financial and military support from the US, so that it is in effect a client state of the US, and useful as such in maintaining the US interests in the region, especially the oil interest. The US also supports the undemocratic Saudis for the same reason and any other undemocratic regime that kowtows to western interests. Sadam of Iraq didn't cooperate so he was removed. The "Arab Spring" put the US in an awkward position, and had to dither about which might be the winning sides to back.

The Noachide Laws have been recognised in the US Congress, and everthing good attributed to them.

Noachide Laws and the 1st ammendment stand in direct contradiction. One seeks to utterly close and control public discussion, the other demands that all ideas be open for discussion, no matter how "offensive".

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a subset of the BnaiBrith, is an obvious Noachide institution charged with the task of shutting down dissent.
