Politically correct speech can kill

We read:
"It is all too easy to dehumanize the sick, the weak, and the disabled. A few days after the White Mass, Pulitzer Prize–winning commentator Paul Greenberg, addressing a crowd in Manhattan, said, “Verbicide must precede homicide.” To justify killing an unborn baby — whether it be a Down Syndrome baby, or one with a physical deformity, or the child of a mother who is desperate for one reason or another — one has to “speak of a fetus, not an unborn child,” Greenberg said. “Vocabulary remains the decisive turning point.”

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette columnist was speaking to an audience gathered together by the folks at The Human Life Review to hail him as a “Great Defender of Life.”

He had, you see, changed his mind. “When Roe v. Wade was first pronounced from on high,” he told the assembly, “I welcomed it.” But over the years, he recalled, it took “more and more effort to justify” his position. To stay steady, it was imperative not to “look too closely at those sonograms.”

Logic also supports the pro-life position. When the egg is fertilized there comes into being another unique human person and the only difference between that single cell and a fully grown adult is the stage of the life or development that now exists.

There is NO other point at which you can say "The line has been crossed, this is a living person".

If you don't like abortion, don't have one. Keep the government off our backs.

If you don't like murder, don't commit one. Keep the government off our backs.

Really?!?

As always, the problem lies not with the cause, but the symptom. If you don't want to be faced with an abortion decision, don't get pregnant. And to not get pregnant, don't have sex. Believe it or not, it's just that simple.

Sex is either consensual or it is not. If a woman gets pregnant, it's because she had sex, and she either had it consensually, in which case she is responsible for the consequences, or she did not have it consensually, in which case, her partner should be brought up on rape charges.

We continue to address the symptom of the problem. Men, keep it in your pants, and women, keep your legs closed.

Frankly, it doesn't matter to me whether or not a woman wants to kill her baby because it was born out of rape, has some debilitating disease, or doesn't want to go up a dress size.

The only person to whom it should matter is the person to whom the procedure is done.

I see abortion the way history sees the Natvie Americans. If they want it bad enough, they'll have to simply be better than those who want it more.

Yes, you are exactly right! And the baby that it is being done to says it wants to live.

"Really?!?"

If you like murder, than join the army.

I laugh at your stupidity.

Anon 1:03 pm - Are you saying that you've met a baby that wanted to be killed?

I would like to hear a fetus through a stethoscope say the words, "Hey, I want to live."

Standard rule on abortions should be pretty simple....

Have a penis? You don't get a vote.

Glad I could make that easier for ya.

Tell ya what....since the problem here seems to be that people are all upset that this procedure is caused by the woman's activity in the first place...ANYONE that is in need of a medical procedure will be denied it if the problem is the result of their own bad decisions.
Smoker with cancer? Too bad.
Fat diabetic? Shouldn't have eaten those Twinkies.
Hurt driving drunk? Deal with it.
Kid runs into street and is hit by a car? Someone should have taught him better.
Broke something playing sports? Shoulda stayed in the nice safe gym.

Look, I'm opposed to the government paying for abortions. (Or pretty much anything else, but that rant is for another day) But as long as this medical procedure isn't being paid for with tax money it is, and shall remain, none of any-ones business.

I'm still amused by people that are anti-abortion and against contraceptives.

Hey Anon 12:20,

Did you not read my last sentence? If the baby really wants to live, then it should have done more than what the Native Americans did to defend what they saw as theirs.

I'm just pissed that we throw the material away instead of harvesting it for testing purposes and eventually human advancement.

Anon 1:31 -- "I would like to hear a fetus through a stethoscope say the words, "Hey, I want to live.""

Only if first we get to stuff you into a tight fitting sack full of liquid and hear you say it under those conditions first. Oh yeah, we are also going to let you out of the sack through a drain hole slightly smaller than your head (.1 millimeter ought to be big enough for your head).
