Drag queen tampon ad 'transphobic'

Too bad. If you're weird, you are going to have to put up with people regarding you as weird. Phobias have got nothing to do with it.
Tampon maker Libra has been branded "outrageously transphobic" over its new ad implying transgender people are not real women because they do not menstruate.

The television commercial depicts a drag queen character and a blonde woman standing side by side in a nightclub restroom putting on mascara and lip gloss, and adjusting their bras competitively.

The blonde woman then pulls out her Libra tampon, leaving the drag queen to storm out of the toilets in a huff.

The ad, which wraps with the catch phrase "Libra gets girls", has faced a storm of criticism, with dozens posting harsh comments on the company's Facebook page.

What is "wierd"? What the court of JonJay pontificates? On another thread he claims to respect other people and their views - but calling some people wierd doesn't sound very respectful !

Anon, you're right about the use of the word "weird". A much more appropraite term would be, "abnormal, retarded, freaks". In a sane world, these "things" would be put to sleep, if for no other reason than to try and keep the gene pool clean. And, while we're in the process of cleaning, let's throw liberal, bleeding-heart enablers in as well.

The dogma of accepting or insisting that the abnormal, the strange, and deviant be accepted as normal is contrary to logic and sanity. Men behaving as women is abnormal and a deviancy of the normal. To mock that which is purposefully abnormal is the basis of all comedy. Political correctness is the forced acceptance of that which is abnormal and the condemnation of general common truth.

Come on, folks, this is not rocket science, it's basic Biology. If a person has XX chromosomes, she is female. If a person has XY chromosomes, he is male. Yes, there are medical anomalies creating exceptions to this, but they are the rare exception, and should be treated as such.

Cutting off your pecker makes you no more female than stitching one on makes you male.

It should really be called "Gender Identification Disorder" because the person is trying to unnaturally apply a gender.

Weird is someone not knowing how to spell 'weird.' Then again, perhaps being 'wierd' is the latest example of a lefty 'victim of the month' group.

"Transphobic"?
Is there any peculiarity/abnormality that people can not approve of nowadays and not be called "X-phobic"?

Of course, one springs to mind. If you object to whites, males or Christianity they call you a star!

It just begs the question what is normal. What is normal today might have been considered a bit abnormal 50 years ago and even more abnormal 100 years ago. So where do changes take place that make the above posters ever so "normal" now when they wouldn't have been in the past??? I think they suffer from the "King Canute syndrome".

@11:02 AM - Yep, I guess a 2-vowel inversion is some major online spelling "crime", that's worthy of comment above and beyond the intended point of the post.
So good luck with your evident online career in spelling and grammar policing (wow - get a life!).

"Normal" means XX = female and XY = male. Anything otherwise is not normal.

"Normal" is a no fun.
The ad sounds amusing though.

"Normal" is not intended to be fun. It is intended to provide a baseline for comparison. And that's the problem with Liberals. They try to emotionalize everything, forsaking the truth.

"Normal" just means average or the main part in a bell-graph. If you eliminate or persecute those at the minority ends, you simply create new minority ends until you end up removing or exterminating everyone including yourself.
Variety is very important to human survival and to the survival of any species (that's why eugenics fails in practice as well as in principle).

Fascinating that this was brought up in defense of "sexual alternatives."

"The Irony, it burnses us!"

Luke doesn't seem to understand that human survival relies on more than sexual reproduction, as cultural and technological input is also significant on both the individual and communal level; and non-reproducing people have done as much for that as ones who have issue, whether or not the issue survived to reproduce themselves any number of generations.

... and even in some animal social species, non-reproducing individuals contribute to the survival of the group/colony.
