Must not equate "Progressives" with Communists

Rep. West

We read:
"Rep. Allen West (R-FL) has taken intense heat from the media and the left over his statement that there are “78 to 81 members of the Democratic Party that are members of the Communist Party.” In the wake of the controversy that has resulted from his remarks, West, who was slated to be a speaker at an event hosted by the Martin County chapter of the NAACP this past Saturday, was disinvited from addressing the group.

The statement in question is, of course, when Rep. Allen said that “I believe there’s about 78 to 81 members of the Democrat Party who are members of the Communist Party … It’s called the Congressional Progressive Caucus.”

"Progressives" rarely ever had a bad word to say about Soviet Russia in its time and they still adore Castro so I think Colonel West has a point

Am I the only one who thinks he was making a jibe?

He should not be harassed since the word "believe" does not require any proof whatsoever.

I believe in God. I do not have to proof that statement.

As one would expect, those on the Left immediately compared Rep. West to Sen. Joe McCarthy who, back in the 50's, accused a large number of people, both in the US govt. and the entertainment industry, as being communist spies and sympathizers. What those on the Left never mention is the fact that Sen. McCarthy, in spite of his lack of tact, was right.

At the time, our govt. (especially the State Dept.) and the entertainment industry, which was (and still is) controlled by Eastern Eurpoean Jews, had a large number of communist sympathizers. Today, it's often said that you can find more communists in Hollywood than you can find in Moscow.

Most intelligent people understand that "progressives, lefitists, and communists" are simply different ways of describing the same ideology.

True Americans who love their country should be very proud of Rep. West. Unfortunately, he's not running for president. Yet.

While I have great respect for West and agree with him most of the time, I lost some respect in his handling of the Martin / Zimmerman affair as he was quick to jump on the bandwagon of Zimmerman's guilt without knowing the facts.

That being said, in this case, West is more right than wrong.

Excerpt from NY Post; 4-26-12:

"The American Communist Party had a membership whose loyalty was to Moscow first and foremost, and included many NYC teachers who sought to use their perch as a mechanism (as the late Sidney Hook argued) to propagate party doctrine among their students. They used the laws of the system they despised to protect their secret work for the communist movement.

Some who lost their jobs were good teachers who put their professional duties ahead of their loyalty to Stalin. But many others weren’t — and all refused to be honest about their own views, preferring to call themselves “progressives” and to pose as martyrs...

Other than Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who openly ran as a socialist, the rest of this lot ran as “moderate democrats.” I think it’s time we put the myth of the “moderate” democrat to bed. They are all Marxists, or Marxist leaning. They all are big government totalitarians hell-bent on destroying America, the Constitution, and our way of life. One needs no other proof than the way Congress has acted since the Marxist-democrats took control four years ago, and the tyranny that has been championed since Obama was sworn in.
