Any criticism of Hispanics is hate?

An 11-year-old who performed the National Anthem in a mariachi suit at Wednesday's NBA Finals game received a raucous ovation for his rendition.

The Twittersphere, however, wasn't as supportive.  Many tweets directed at Sebastian De La Cruz involved hate speech.  One person wrote: "How you singing the national anthem looking like an illegal immigrant?"  "Why is a foreigner singing the national anthem?" another wrote.

I personally think he is a great kid and would not make the criticisms noted above.  But why is it "hate" to criticize his dress or question his nationalty?

Leftists are so keen to pin their own hate on others that even mild disapproval or any disagreement routinely becomes "hate"

The phrasing and utter lack of grammatical sense in the quote above give you all the answers you need.

The people tweeting such things are ignorant, making knee-jerk comments on an issue they know nothing about. It's not hate speech, it's pitiful.

Think before you tweet, or risk revealing the true shame that is you!

The United States incorporates many cultures and their ethnic costumes. Even so-called US styles have features derived from many sources not least Spanish-Mexican.

This has nothing to do with the kid, but rather, what is being represented. America is becoming nothing more than a northern suburb of Mexico. In fact, many illegals will now (openly) say that, "this is their country now".

America has had only one civil war, and one revolution, but i truly believe that's going to change. Even sheep will bite when pushed too far.

I have worked with Mexicans and have never seen them wear mariachi customes, so its the parents that deserve the criticism. Dress the part! If you're going to a black tie affair, that's what you wear. If you're singing the national anthem, dress like an American!
