Typical Leftist doublespeak from a Leftist Rabbi

He starts out saying, "I am a strong supporter of the right to free speech" and then goes on immediately to applaud its banning.  He clearly likes Stalin's definition of free speech:  "Freedom to agree with me"

I am a strong supporter of the right to free speech guaranteed in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, a principle which is at the very heart of the liberties we enjoy in America.

Nevertheless, I applaud the April 28 decision by the Board of the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) to ban all political advertising on its buses and subways, rather than accede to a U.S. District judge's irresponsible ruling that the MTA must allow an inflammatory ad that defames Muslims

Allow me to briefly run through the chain of events that led us to this pass. The 9-2 decision by the MTA Board to ban all political advertising came several days after U.S. District Judge John Koeltl ruled that the MTA must run an ad by Pamela Geller's American Freedom Defense Initiative on New York City subways and buses featuring a photo of a sinister-looking man in a checkered keffiyah and the words, "Killing Jews is worship that draws us closer to Allah." The ad, which cites Hamas MTV as the source of its quote, closes with the noxious tagline, "That's his jihad. What's yours?"

Free speech is the necessary antidote to Islamic Jihad. Someone talking about evil exposes it. When enough people understand the evil, then it can be stopped. That is why the metaphor of free speech being a light which exposes those who hide in the darkness to covert their evil is so effective.

It really does come down to free speech vs. violent death, and this idiot is choosing to side with death.

For many years I've had a hypothesis that when someone violates someone else's rights, they lose their own ability to claim the protection of that right.

For example, when someone murders another human being, they have violated that person's right to life. Therefore, the murderer loses their own right to life.

Likewise, if they steal or destroy someone's property, violating the victim's property rights, the criminal loses equivalent property rights.

When it comes to freedom of speech and religion, Islam has core doctrines which seek to deny those rights to non-muslims. Therefore, Islam loses the protection of those rights.

Why would you not want to hear what Hamas is saying? It seems to be quite educational, to me, but not for liberals who continue to make excuses for a terrorist organization. Of course, most of them, like this "rabbi", would rather play ostrich and bury their heads in the sand. I guess that's so it will be easier to bury the rest of their bodies when they are murdered by the terrorists.

Free speech according in every country around the world is dependant on whether you agree with those who hold the power to destroy your life or not. In the west it is the socialist left with their PC that pulls the strings.
